Scrap Metal Services
From our fully licenced scrap metal handling facility in Wigan, Ainscough Metals offer a wide range of Scrap Metal Services. We are pleased to welcome customers to our premises where they can make use of our 50ft, 50 tonne weighbridge and for those who require collection we are able to offer a Hiab collection service with skips available from 1 to 20 tonnes.
Ferrous Metal
Ferrous metals all contain an iron compound. These include metals such as cast iron, wrought iron, steel and cast steel. Ferous metals are usually found in items such as cooking stoves, fridges, freezers, vehicles and cans. Also, all types of ferrous metals are magnetic. If you are unsure whether a metal is ferrous or not, you can test it with a magnet. A magnet will not connect to a non-ferrous metal.
Non Ferrous Metal
Non ferrous metals are those which don't contain an iron compound. These include metals such as brass, bronze, copper, aluminium, and lead. If you are unsure whether a metal is ferrous or not, you can test it with a magnet. A magnet will not connect to a non-ferrous metal.
